Priority Robotics, together with Fulfilio, implemented an AMR that delivered a high-volume automated apparel solution to Australia post customers. This system was even moved from one facility to another, demonstrating the flexibility of AMR Solutions.
Australia Post requested a high volume, scalable, automated fulfilment solution to support the needs of their apparel customers. Priority Robotics was chosen as they were the only provider able to meet the scope and provide a solution that met Australian Standards. Priority Robotics provided a 1.2m x 1.2m AMR pallet pod, a four-sided picking pod, and colour coded pods to enable easier picking.
We met with the Australia Post team to understand their requirements and proposed establishing a test and training centre for 6-months at their Tullamarine DC. This gave them the flexibility to test the system without a long-term commitment. From their agreement to proceed, we quickly mobilised and within 12-weeks were fully operational, consistently picking several thousand orders per day. The team was amazed at how quickly they could train new team members in minutes, not weeks.
Within a month of go-live, the system was put to its first true test over Black Friday sales. We supported the Australia Post team with the fulfilment of over 28,000 lines over BFCM weekend. The flexibility and scalability of the AMR system enabled Australia Post to exceed customer expectations and improve profitability.
Australia Post approached us in late 2020 to support their transition to a new DC in Truganina. To deliver this, we demobilised the Tullamarine DC and installed the original hardware with a further expansion in the new DC in under 3 days. As a result of our support, Australia Post continued fulfilling customer orders without impacting service.
Since the transition, the operation has been expanded again, with Australia Post reaffirming its commitment to our solutions, demonstrating true partnership.
