Munro Footwear Group, supported by TMX, selected Priority Robotics as its automation partner to deploy Australia's largest AMR deployment with over 200 AMRs and 5,000 Pods. The facility is an NDC providing a single hub for all of the Munro Footwear Group brands.

One of the challenges faced in the current facilities is that their footwear is stored in cartons in selective racking. This is unsuited to small order picking for online and the transition from a push to a pull model.

Priority Integrated Systems has responded to this challenge with Australia's largest AMR deployment with a capacity for 6,500 AMR Pods and storage for 1.2m pairs of footwear. The solution uses an open format "Shoe Pod" optimised for footwear storage. This solution enables the random storage of individual units within an AMR system.

This solution uses both our Fast Inbound four-sided put-away system as well as our Order Transfer Pod solution. The Order Transfer Pod is a world first technology developed by Priority IS to maintain the fully autonomous nature of AMR technology. This is achieved by picking from an AMR Inventory pod to an Order Pod which then moves the order to packing, decoupling the pick and pack processes.

MFG was able to thoroughly test the solution in our Testing and Training Centre (TTC) before deployment. This enabled the team to test elements of the UI as well as the physical workstations.

We made several design improvements between the TTC and live deployment. As the TTC was integrated into the MFG WMS, we could test all messaging in advance. In addition, we used the space to conduct Super-User training so that when we delivered the solution, it was ready for use from day one.

This type of support is unique in the robotics industry and one of the key differences between us and other providers.
